NDDB has created a cyber platform for holistic development of dairying
Dairy is a vital allied sector activity of agriculture that requires scientific knowledge and expert guidance for its success. Being the largest single agricultural commodity, dairy contributes about 4% to the Indian economy.
Keeping in view the significance of the dairy sector, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has created a digital platform to provide information on its various aspects. The NDDB has created the Dairy Knowledge Portal to all stakeholders to share knowledge, exchange their views to find solutions and to have a meaningful dialogue.
The portal — https://www.dairyknowledge.in — has wide-ranging information on dairying including animal breeding, health, schemes and policies about dairy farming, tips and suggestions from experts. It provides insight from the dairy cooperative institutions, professionals, veterinary and agricultural universities, faculty members, national institutes engaged in research and development, government functionaries and all stakeholders who share their knowledge actively.
The portal is a useful resource for those who aspire or plan to start a dairy. They can access information about animal breeding, health and nutrition, case studies and dairy technology. The portal also has a discussion forum where users can ask and get answers from those engaged in dairy farming, experts and other stakeholders.
